I don’t know anyone looking back over their 2009 who would be completely satisfied with how they lived and made use of the opportunities given them. But, whenever Jesus interacted with someone, He wasn’t concerned so much with who they had been, but rather with whom they had yet to become in Him.

To Simon Peter Jesus said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas (which, when translated, is Peter).” Though well intentioned, as Simon, the soon to be apostle was impulsive and prone to weakness and fear. But, Jesus already saw him as Peter, the rock upon which He would build His infant church.

Each new year is an opportunity to begin anew; to start over; to “forget what is behind and (press on) toward what is ahead.” (Philippians 3:13) This year doesn’t have to be a repeat of last. In Isaiah 43:19, the Lord declares, “See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.”

Life makes no sense unless it’s lived in relationship with God. Wherever you’ve been, we serve a God of new beginnings. If you’re looking for a new start, for new meaning, for a new opportunity to live the life you know you were created for, God has that for you. And we would love for you to pursue that with us. We meet every Wednesday at 8 PM in the new Tate Center Grand Hall. Our Freshley service for 1st year students meets every Monday at 8 PM in the Wesley Chapel.

We’d love to have the opportunity to get to know you and go after God’s best together.

Blessings,

A student had been struggling with fear over a new relationship, school, and job situations for quite some time. She felt like her life could be really good or really bad and it was affecting the way she viewed the Lord. During a service in April, the Wesley Director said that anyone struggling with fear should come forward to receive prayer. She was extremely scared just to go and get prayed for but the Lord provided strength for her. She received prayer from a staff member and was completely set free from fear! She felt like a huge weight had been lifted off her shoulders and she felt alive again!

A Wesley staff member and two UGA students went to The Ramsey Center to play volleyball. It turned out that the courts were closed that night. They started talking with some employees at the front desk when a woman came hobbling up to the desk asking for medicine for extreme cramps in her legs. She said she went up to get a rebound, her legs cramped up and she fell to the ground. The employees were not able to give her anything but told her she could try walking it off. The boys asked if they could pray for her legs. She agreed, saying she would try anything at that moment. The boys prayed for about a minute, asking God to restore her leg muscles. They stopped praying when the woman started crying. They asked what was wrong and she said nothing was. She was completely healed! She thanked the boys for praying and walked back, without a limp, to the courts to continue playing basketball! Not only was it a testimony to the woman but, also to the employees and students watching while the boys were praying.

A student came to a healing prayer night with several scars from cutting. She said she didn’t want to come because she believed the lie that healing of scars wasn’t a good reason to come. She did come and God healed one of her scars!

WRIST HEALED
A student hurt her wrist playing softball in last May. She had surgery and tried several types of medicines. She feels called to be a musician, specifically a drummer, and had not been able to play in almost six months. She came to healing prayer night and was healed! No more pain! She finished the night off playing the drums for everyone as we all worshipped!
SHIN SPLINTS HEALED
A student came to healing prayer night with shin splints in her right leg and a possible stress fracture above her right ankle. Several healing prayer leaders were praying for the people coming and felt like God wanted to heal shin splints. So, a group of them prayed for her and then she ran up and down the hallway with no pain!

Before coming to healing prayer: “I have had problems with neck and back for two and a half years. I just want prayer for relief from such a long time with this pain.”
After healing prayer: “This is the best I’ve felt in the past two and a half years! The lord healed my pains: physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. He is exactly what I needed! Praise Him!”

BACK AND RIBS HEALED
“I have had severe back/rib pain on my right side for several years. The doctors don’t know what’s wrong and I’ve had numerous treatments done and the pain always returns. I’m ready for a pain free day where I can sit for longer than ten minutes, breath comfortably, and get back to doing things I used to do like gymnastics and picking up little kids.”
After healing prayer: “The Lord is truly miraculous! The pain went from unbearable to simply sore and achy. I know the Lord has so much in store for me and the pain is almost gone! Thank you Lord!
The next day: “The pain is completely gone and not come back! I can sit and bend and it feels so good!

RIGHT SHOULDER HEALED
A student came to healing prayer night, received prayer, and was very encouraged but the pain in his right shoulder was still there. After the night was over several students were hanging out in the prayer chapel and one asked “Does anyone have any pain in their right shoulder?” This student said yes, received prayer, and was healed! He started doing fast arm circles to test it out and still no pain!
