Retreats are wonderful opportunities to get away, relax, worship, hear truth from the Word of God and enjoy fellowship and community with other believers.

Women’s Retreat (February 1-3, 2008)
Join us at the Junction Camp in Temple, GA. Cindy Gaultney will be our weekend speaker. It should certainly be a weekend of relaxation, powerful ministry, worship, crafts and fellowship with our sisters in Christ. Women of all ages welcome (bring your sisters and moms!) Cost is $55 ($66 to include a long sleeve t-shirt.) Packing details and directions to come soon!

Men’s Forceful Advance (January 25-27, 2008)

Wesley Fall Retreat (October 19-21, 2007)
Fall Retreat is typically a weekend at the end of October/ beginning of November. Often we are joined by other Wesley Foundations from around the state at the FFA-FCCLA camp in Covington, GA. Stay tuned for details on next fall’s weekend of teaching, worship, fellowship and fun!

Directions to Fall Retreat- FFA FCCLA Camp in Covington, GA

From Athens: (it takes about 1 hour)

Take Highway 78 toward Monroe. Just West of the Monroe exits, take the exit for Highway 138 toward Conyers. Follow 138 to Walnut Grove. At the traffic light in Walnut Grove, turn left/South on Highway 81. Follow 81 to Highway 142. Turn left on Highway 142. Follow 142 over I-20 then approximately 3.5 miles to the second traffic light (S.R. 36). Go straight until you reach Hwy 36, don’t turn left again onto 142. Turn left/South on Highway 36. Proceed 9.3 miles until you see the FFA-FCCLA Center sign on the left. Turn left into the driveway and follow FFA Road about 1 mile to the facility.

WESLEY’S GOT TALENT! Thursday April 3 - All you talented people, started getting your acts together and support the Maputo, Mozambique mission team and the fun of fellowship at Wesley!

*4 special acts are up for grabs!* Get some friends together and choose an act for the guy directors, girl directors, Wesley Ballerinas, or Daniel & Wade to perform! Act goes to the highest bidder, BID HIGH!! Bidding starts March 17 and ends March 26. All money goes to support the Maputo, Mozambique mission team.

If you would like to perform, sign-up sheets are posted on the Main Office windows or in the Alleyway during Wednesday night services. Sign-ups start March 17 and end March 28.

Wesley Foundation Golf Classic

The Wesley Foundation Golf Classic is one of the two major fundraisers here at Wesley. We have the tournament every Spring to help raise money for our ministry. Here at Wesley we are responsible for raising 80% of our ministry budget. Therefore, the Golf Tournament plays a crucial part in fulfilling our financial needs especially, as summer giving tends to decrease.

The tournament is held at Athens Country Club, a premier golf course here in Athens, GA. The course is annually rated as one of the state’s top 20 and is Fred Couples’ course of choice each year as a warm-up for the Masters.

We realize that the best prizes bring in the most golfers! So we try to have top of the line prizes to give away to you. In previous years we gave PING drivers, fairway woods, putters, and golf bags to our top four teams. We also held a raffle where prizes included a Nike Sasquatch 460 Driver, Cleveland wedges, rounds of golf at several Georgia courses, and autographed footballs by UGA Head Coach Mark Richt. We also had numerous awards for closest to the pin, longest drive, and longest putt throughout the course to make the day even more fun! We are in the process of acquiring the prizes for this year and they will be of the same quality and value of prizes in the years past.

Similar to last year, we will start the day with a putting contest. The driving range will be open two hours before we tee off. Lunch and drinks will be provided in the carts and we will also have a food and drink cart on the course for you. Our day will end with the awards ceremony!

There are numerous ways to be involved in the Wesley Golf Classic. First and foremost, we need teams! We can pair you up with a group if needed, but strongly encourage you to put together a foursome. We also need hole sponsors to help cover our costs for the tournament. Each hole sponsor will have a professionally printed sign on display at one of the tee boxes. Finally, we greatly appreciated donated prizes and general financial gifts. Your prayer support is also greatly needed so that our day and our ministry will be covered by the Lord.

Cost per golfer is $150.
Hole sponsorships are $300.

From Atlanta (I-85 N)?Take I-85 N to exit 316 E to Athens. (Approximately 45 miles to Loop 10 N). At traffic light just before Home Depot and the Waffle House sign, (just after you go over the bridge) turn right onto Loop 10 N. Once on Loop 10, take the third exit (Prince Avenue/Jefferson Road) and then turn right. Take a right at the third traffic light. Cross over the railroad tracks and ACC is at the top of the hill. Crosstrainers 5k

The CrossTrainers 5k is held in the spring of each year to help raise money for our CrossTrainers Retreat. The retreat is the finale of the CrossTrainers year! We take all of our mentors and the kids they mentor away for a weekend to truly immerse them in the love of the Lord.

This year’s race is going to be on Saturday, March 1, 2008, on the UGA campus.
